In a notable collaboration, Teaching Hospital Kalutara and the Sri Lanka College of Emergency Physicians (SLCEP) successfully conducted an Advanced Life Support (ALS) workshop on 2023 December 27th, aimed at improving emergency care skills for healthcare professionals. The event, held at the hospital’s state-of-the-art training center, brought together a diverse group of doctors, nurses, and paramedics from across the region.
The workshop was designed to deliver in-depth training on life-saving techniques such as advanced cardiac resuscitation, airway management, and post-resuscitation care. Led by experts from both the Teaching Hospital Kalutara and SLCEP, the sessions featured a combination of lectures and hands-on simulations, allowing participants to practice and refine their skills in a controlled environment. The involvement of the SLCEP added a level of expertise and leadership, ensuring that the latest ALS protocols and best practices were integrated into the training.
