ALS – 2nd Batch

In a significant stride towards enhancing emergency medical care, Kalutara Clinical Society and the Sri Lanka College of Emergency Physicians (SLCEP) successfully hosted an Advanced Life Support (ALS) workshop on 26/04/2024. The event brought together medical professionals from various healthcare institutions to upgrade their skills in managing life-threatening emergencies.

The ALS workshop, a key training event for healthcare professionals, focused on critical life-saving techniques, including advanced airway management, cardiac arrest management, and effective resuscitation protocols. The interactive sessions, conducted by expert instructors, incorporated both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice using state-of-the-art simulation equipment.

A spokesperson for Kalutara Clinical Society highlighted the importance of continuous medical education in the evolving field of emergency care. “Our goal is to ensure that our doctors and nurses are well-prepared to handle medical emergencies with confidence and competence,” they said. “This ALS workshop is an integral part of our commitment to raising the standard of healthcare in the region.”

Participants hailed the workshop as a valuable experience, citing the practical approach and real-time scenarios as particularly beneficial. “It was an excellent opportunity to refine our skills and stay updated with the latest ALS guidelines,” one attendee noted.

With the success of this workshop, Kalutara Clinical Society aims to continue offering similar educational programs to strengthen emergency response capabilities within the local healthcare system.
